Nice silver and a old BIG copper...

Got a 1937 silver dime today but also a big mystery copper. It came from a really old site but i cant solve the mystery. It appears to have a laurel wreath all around it and i see some words and the second word looks like it says penny. The back appears to have a full sail tall ship/schooner on it and possibly a date below it. The coins in nice shape but must have been worn when dropped. I drew on some pictures of what i think i see. Hopefully someone can solve the mystery because out of all the old coins and tokens i ever dug this ones a tough one to solve. Thanks for looking! I've also dug one, ID'd it about a decade ago, but can't remember. So the answer is out there.

Several of the Provinces issued tokens where a ship appears on the reverse side; including Nova Scotia, PEI, Upper Canada, New Brunswick and maybe others. You might check out tokens versus coins. Even jetons had pics of ships on the reverse.

I just organized my coins, or at least my collection of better ones, and came across it again and was interested to know the ID... again. Took me about 10 minutes to figure out out, and it seems like it is sort of a scarce coin... not that it makes it valuable, but I think pretty unlikely we will dig a 2nd, or see many more posted. And who doesn't love a big ship coin, just to bad they aren't better. Mine actually is a bit better than the pic... think I cleaned it a little more.
