Well the temps here have finally decided to back off at bit AND we got rain yesterday! So nothing to do but to go huntin'! Was headed one way and got distracted to another. Glad I did too! Before I left the house, I was looking over some old aerial maps and noticed a structure that I had overlooked before. Not knowing if it it was an old house or a barn, I knew someone that would know and planned to visit him before the day was over.
First stop was the old homeplace where I found the Indian Wars button....The apple tree place. No hunting under these apple trees today though! :P Thousands of bumble bees enjoying the decaying apples all over the ground.

Skipped over to the front yard and turned it up. I've hunted this place a dozen times and though the finds are sparse, I did find a nice little dropped round bullet, HALF a tax token :P and a wheat penny. Also, I had a great signal on this one, dug the hole, and found the cap to Continental Distilling Corp AND the heart stopper!

Not to be, though. :'( Still was neat to see...

After a couple of hours there, I went on the hunt of the person that would know who owned the new site I was interested in. Found him and he said he thought he remembered that place and that it was a barn. :-\ BUT he did give me the owners name and sent me on my way. Get to the site and introduce myself. Had to drop a few names to let him know I was a good 'ole gal, and he invites me to hunt all his property!!! :blob7: Three different sites that I can remember him telling me about! :icon_biggrin: Only he says, "They've been hunted hard, but you hunt 'em whenever you want to!" "Matter of fact," he says, "Right here where we're standing was my parents old homeplace...see what you can find!" Thirty minutes later, I have a couple of wheats and some change. Might be something there after all! We'll see! What a nice guy! Came home with a watermelon too!

Now...I haven't hunted that much this summer, but I did get out a couple of times. Mostly change and a some wheat pennies. Of course the tax tokens, that seem to be everywhere and a neat squished penny from the US Space and Rocket Center.

Wish me luck! I hope to start on the new sites by Friday and pray the temps stay low and somebody left me something to find! :D

well i like it

:-* Thanks, ya'll! :)

I'll remember that for tomorrow, Nicky! I'm making a note to myself right now! I just hope the ink doesn't wash off between now and tomorrow! ;D

Will do, Ricky! But I have a feeling that there's going be three gals slinging dirt all over the place for the next couple a hunts here! :D

Civil...I have found enough of those tokens to give them away at the hunts! :P :D The guy who's property I'm fixing to hunt and I were talking about them yesterday. He said his wife has an old rocking chair that was her Dad's, and that it still had one attached to a nail and being used as a washer. :D

Come on down, Merf! Might want to wait another two or threes weeks though, we'll be having perfect hunting weather then!

Cold and salty, Rob! This ones a good one too!

Ed...If that were the case, you KNOW I'd never be able to find the first one! :D

Thanks again, and hope you're all able to get out and hunt! :) Find something good!

Nice finds and looks like a great spot, I was glad to see alittle break in the weather also, and the rain.
Its got to be easier for a good ol GAL than a good ol Boy to get permission to hunt a sight.

Nice job getting permission! Good to see you making the finds. I was glad your rain decided to come my way too...I don't know about you, but we need it over here.
