Met up with a couple detecting buddies this morning at the same park where I dug the 1905 $2.50 gold last weekend. Finally ended this year's silverless streak with a very shallow 1892 Barber quarter. Thinking it was shallow clad I just popped it out of the ground and was very lucky not to have gouged it with my digger. Lesson learned !!! A while later I got a nice sounding hit and dug an extra large plug and was rewarded with a 1920 mercury dime a good 9-10 inches deep. Ended the day with a little pocket spill of two wheat cents and a 1915 Buffalo nickel. My buddies added a Barber and mercury dime and an indian head cent. A good day at the old park. All coins came from within 50 yards or so from where I dug the gold coin last week.
