Not Familiar With This One

Found the point top left diggin today. Its about a inch and a half. I have found no other points similar at my hunt site. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Keith.

Looks like the one on the left in this picture. We always called them Dog Eared Points for lack of a better name or type and we always found them on sites that produced mostly Early Archaic types like Thebes, Lost Lakes, Doves, Big Sandys, etc.

I have heard these called Mickey Mouse ears...LOL. I posted one similar a few months ago but no luck on the ID. I found a broke base of this style two weeks ago at a depth at which I've found Kirks and LeCroys.

I have found a heavy duty in the same area and no more archaic pieces. A friend thought it was possibly a Orient. It sure looks like your pic SRV. And they are similar to the big sandy. Thanks for the help and the dog ear language. I just wish I new half of what you fellows have forgotten! Thanks for the reply.

Here is the HD Ohio. I took the pic with my old camera so its not the best pic. It had the tip knocked off. I believe it was just short of 4 inches. But I did put it in a tray that I gave away. Thanks for the post.

The point you originally asked about could be a Hi-Lo. (Google is your friend).

The little Mickey Mouse ears were an idea that was floating around in the Late Paleo/Early Archaic era. Attached is a little broken Quad point that shows the same thing (along with Clovis fluting and flaking). There are others as well.

Thanks for the info uniface. I noticed a small thin flute on one side after I washed it. Here is a better pic. It makes me think it is earlier than I thought. Thanks for help/post.
