I know I joined awhile ago ,, and never posted ,, so here I go , I always wanted a metal detector ,, since I was a kid .. when I stumbled on this site ..It brought back,, that thought .
So I went and bought myself one ,, But never really got to use it ..
Today I went to my daughters /son in law ..house built in the 50's? was part of a small farm. By a large tree ,found 3 clad 1967 quarters w/in 6 inches of each other (son in law ) took off w/them .
so no pics ,of them, dug up a bunch of alum. can parts /siding. and then found a 1956 wheatie…..only 8 feet from a barn on the neighboring property .ON the property border..Only spent about an hour and maybe a 1/2 Here's a pic of the penny ...not great ,, but better then nothing …………..,Wayne

Congrats on your find. In this hobby, you will find out that not everything you dig will be old (or fun and exciting) but its the mystery of the next dig that keeps us going ! Pretty soon you will have that Indian Head penny and more.
