Nothin' Special But a Few Interesting Finds

Hello everybody! This is my first picture post here, so I hope I get it right. I had a few hours to spare today, so I went thrashing through the briar's, fell down the concrete stairs(shown in the first pic), fought off a couple of fierce Chihuahua's, lost my coffee thermos, left my spare battery pack in the truck so back up the stairs again, all for a few pennies and relic's. God I love this hobby.
I did manage to find a couple of wheatie's, a brass lipstick tube, a coca-cola bottle opener, a rimfire cartridge(app. 32 cal) and a few other items. Thanks for looking. And if you have a few spare bandaids, I would appreciate it very much!

Hey RickP, not bad, funny story too. LOL

Man, the one iron piece at the top right has got me wondering. I found the same piece early this week. I first thought it was maybe just some sort of handle. Earlier today I was lookin' again and thinkin' possible a stirrup from a child size saddle. Anyhow, what do you think it is?

Hi Rick that site looks very promising. The one item you have above the pocket knife piece, is the broken end of a civil war period spur, I would look for the rest of that. The harmonica reed and round lead shot are common finds on CW sites also. Congrats

Steve, the stairs could have been real bad, but I was able to catch myself. Thank God I didnt break anything, like my shovel. That would have been bad....

KirkTN, if it is a stirrup, giddyup. I dont have a clue what it is.

john37115.. I didn't have a clue about the spur. Thanks. I have found a lot of CW relics( and older ) in this area over the years. A lot of early French and Spanish activity. As a matter of fact, the coin in my avatar was found there.

littledutch, I left off the part about backing into a locust tree, dont know if you've ever seen one but , ouch. But I'll definitely be going back.

I know what you mean, I've got my share of briars so far this year, and somehow managed to leave my digger over in the park today, so I have to get up early and go look for it. Sounds like a good excuse to swing the machine while I'm there though. Oh the things we put ourselves through for little bits of metal.......

Nice digs, Ricky. That Coca-Cola bottle opener is old...hope its not a reproduction. Any writing on it? Oops, looks like the opener part is missing unless you stood it up for the pic. I'm looking at the one I have and it has "Starr X Patent Pending" on the bottom, the # "49" on the back.

RUDY2003 , It definitely keeps me going, even though I would probably be doing something else if I didnt have a detector, it just wouldnt be as much fun.

JARMAN...Thanks. And I will be pounding pretty hard real soon. Only thing bad about this area is it really grows up quick in the spring time and becomes infested with a lot of mean little critters. Theres only about one good month during the winter when all of the brush has completely died back enough to work it. During the summer it is completely taken over by growth.

RiverRat, How ya'll are. It was the way the picture was taken. I havent got the back of it cleaned up enough to read anything yet. I just gave the front of a spit polish in order to take a picture. I know that some of these are collectors items, but its been years since I've seen anything info on the coca-cola stuff.
