Went out into the forest for a short hunt. This area has an incredible amount of 'hot' rocks, both positive and negative, and they drive me crazy because they ring up quite loud. They look just like all the other rocks in the forest, just nondescript plain old rocks. I wasn't really finding much, so I decided to pack a positive hot rock back to the jeep for a closer inspection at home. It only took three blows with a 3lb sledge to pop it open. Well, I guess we have a lot of native copper here in the eastern Sierras. This copper nugget weighs 47 grams. I'll have to pack a negative one next time to see what's in it.

Those rocks probably have resale value to people interested in collecting minerals. Maybe collect some more and try selling them online. Then use the profit to buy some historical gold and silver coins. :)
