I found this at a home built late 1800s, was a farm house when first built. Wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what kind of a number tag this may have been used for. I figured if anyone knew, a Treasurenet member would 😀 D4C1BD72-5391-48D8-B4A6-083D45A46E65.jpeg

What does the tab look like .. It is cut off in the photo.

From what I can see, it looks like a pole number.

I don't remember the thin strip on the end of them but sure does look like pole tag material

Exactly what it is, mine is a 1955 with a serial number of 0771390!

Thanks for the info guys, never knew the old license plates had metal tags. Looks like that's what it is.
