O.V.M. Buckle found..... (NEW PHOTOS)

I decided to enjoy the warm weather change in Northern VA this morning, wipe the spider webs off the Tesoro and head out for a few hours..After the first hour of only finding this one bullet, small buckle, & some what-is-its', out popped the Ohio Volunteer Militia buckle !! I had to sit down and stare at it for several minutes in awhh because I certainly was not expecting this to come out of the ground where I was at...

I have not tried to clean it off yet, so this is how it looked when it was dug. I don't have any of the buckle books so I would appreciate any details you veterans could provide me..

Update---

Hey everyone, I was able to clean the buckle up and WOW, what a great brown patina! Here are the newest photos after a little warm water & toothbrush (don't worry, I waited until after my wife brushed her teeth ......

An OMV...........SAWEEEEET FIND....anything with Ohio on it and Civil War era is rare and expensive, needs to be on the banner!!!!!!

Warman's has 3 different grade ones listed, I would say yours is closest to the $2,000.00 ones. One is at $1,895.00 and one is at $2,250.00. The 3rd one they have listed at $595.00 but in bad shape.

Great find no matter what the dollar value is. Grats.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. The only other plate I ever found was a Maryland State Seal box plate back in early 90's. I still have it and may post it when I get a chance to take a picture of it.

Now that I have an idea of it's value and certainly don't want to screw it up, can you give me some ideas for the best way to clean it? I am anxious to see the patina and any markings that may on the back but don't want to take any chances of harming it. Thanks again everyone!
