O.V.M. Buckle found..... (NEW PHOTOS)

I decided to enjoy the warm weather change in Northern VA this morning, wipe the spider webs off the Tesoro and head out for a few hours..After the first hour of only finding this one bullet, small buckle, & some what-is-its', out popped the Ohio Volunteer Militia buckle !! I had to sit down and stare at it for several minutes in awhh because I certainly was not expecting this to come out of the ground where I was at...

I have not tried to clean it off yet, so this is how it looked when it was dug. I don't have any of the buckle books so I would appreciate any details you veterans could provide me..

Update---

Hey everyone, I was able to clean the buckle up and WOW, what a great brown patina! Here are the newest photos after a little warm water & toothbrush (don't worry, I waited until after my wife brushed her teeth :wink:......

Old post and I don't believe it made it. Hard to figure that one when very common US buckles and breast plates do. :icon_scratch:
