Odd Coke Bottle I Found

This is an old Coca Cola bottle I found the other day. I have been looking on the Internet and can't find one that looks like this. It says Coca Cola on one side and Bottling Co. on the other. On the bottom it says Falls City Nebr. It is a 7oz bottle. Can anyone help out with age and value? Joseph

It says Coca Cola Bottling company. But it's not a "Coke" bottle. It's one of their other brands. Which one, I don't know. I'm sure someone will chime in.

google "Owens Illinois bottle bottoms" and different variations of that and you will find your answer.

You might contact the Richardson Country Historical Society at 402-245-4407 or 402-245-3481 and ask for either Richard Zentner or Bill Rowan (historian). They are located at 1401 Chase Street in Falls City.

Owens-Illinois - 9<(I)>5 - ... 9 = Streator, Illinois plant ... 5 = 1935 (Owens-Illinois formed in 1929)

Typical fruit flavored bottle - Grape-Orange-Strawberry-Lemon-etc ... Because until Fanta came out in the 1960s Coca Cola didn't have their own line of fruit flavors and allowed their franchise bottlers to produce their own but wanted their name on the bottle because ... well, just because.

That explains it. I was wondering myself what was in it. I couldn't find an example of that style bottle anywhere. About all I could find on Falls City Nebraska were the Big Chief soda bottles. Not too much info. out there on this particular bottling company. Very small town too. I knew you would come through. Thanks Bob!

Here's a 1932 bottle I have (I believe made by Glenshaw Glass) which is similar to yours and from San Diego, California. This "style" of bottle is fairly generic and was used by a lot of different bottlers and made by a lot of different glass factories.

Thanks SODABOTTLEBOB for the great info!! I personally have never seen another one like it before, so when i found it in an old barn i thought i had hit the jackpot. Oh well, wishfull thinking i guess! It's still pretty neat and will find a good home on my soda bottle shelf. Thanks again to everyone for the help. Joseph
