Well me and Ocala were talking and he mentioned Fort Macomb......well after many hours of google I found out some info!

Fort Macomb was on the west side of the Suwannee River near Dowling Park. A Seminole village was south of the fort. Fort Macomb lasted three years, much longer than the majority of forts and posts in Florida, but there was a bad record of sickness here. During one time, the garrison was so sick that for months not a single soldier posted guard. The bad reputation kept settlers away for years after the war ended.

Fort Buckeye was at Steinhatchee Springs.

Fort 9 Middle Florida was near Mayo, as was also Fort 17 East Florida.

Looking for Fort 9 MF I found out it is about 5 miles out of town! So people think! The grave yard close doesnt seem to match date wise! Too late! I have been to the library and read thru everything they have on the Seminole war but can't get a good marker for it!

More to follow the time is ticking any help would be awesome!

PS I have learned a bunch so it is fun at least!

been reading a good article on the area from the book i bought @ SRR , read a good article tonight about a town in the area called branford, and of a crazy guy there, there was a big shoot out, and every other page seems to bring light to how life was turn of the century.....i am calling grandma susie tomorrow and going to remind her to get more books for the hunt time, in case anyone else wanted to purchase one. Also see if there has been any update on the neighbors property...they got home later this evening so i will call them tomorrow after dinner time.....

Yippee, 9 more days!! Who will be going home with this? 385349_4478957815499_879798961_n.webp This trophy will be awarded to the best find from the Florida Hunt 2013!!

Please reach out me if you have any other guests any of you plan on inviting, as on FB im seeing people say they are attending, but have no clue who they are, so as of Friday there will be a lock on attendees. If you invited someone please have them send me a friendly hello.
