I found this in southeast Missouri and have no clue what it could be. It is hard like a rock but you need to just see pictures.

No it looks like the brown part is petrified wood covered with blackish brown glass. It's the weirdest thing

1. Relax...there's no emergency. You've got the stone, now we just
need to figure out what it is.

2. Better pictures. In natural light. If you have no choice but to use your
cell phone, then don't take the pic from so close. Better to step back a
little and get a sharper image.

The outer layer looks like glass but it's not and there is like a gem type rock inside cause the blackish brown part looks to be a layer
