Ohio Pirate Cache (100 Coin Day)

ringfinder · Jul 1, 2007

Wow, what a day! A friend of mine called me this morning and said he was hunting
a school site that they about to tear down. Of course I said I would be right there.

By the end of the day 4 of us had found probably around 400 coins. Man this place is loaded. I found over 54 quarters and the rest in dimes, nickels and penny's. I also found a wheat penny 1954 and a couple trumpet buttons and a couple of Ohio band Ensemble badges and one steel ball, beats me what it is. I also found a Pirate Pride pin!

All in all we had a great day of hunting here in Ohio.

Hope your weekend was just as good. Happy 4th of July, be careful out there.

Your pockets must have been heavy! Very nice finds! I am originally from Ohio. The Fostoria area.

Wow, wonder how old that Pirate Pride pin is? Not that old really, but it's been 15 long years since they won something. :'(

Guess you'll have to come home sometime and hunt the old play grounds. LOL

Actually, I think the pin is from the school I graduated from. They are Pirates also!!

Nice finds. I keep hoping one of the new dollar coins will catch on so we can start paying for our gas. LOL

Thanks Rudy, I'm just starting to get the feeling back in my legs. Man over 100 up and downs, make for a tired old man. LOL. Guess it's just a break in for Treasure Week starting this weekend in Ohio.

Thanks again for everyone's replies.
