Hi guys, and thanks for the help.
I'm aware of the process of glacial deposits, and I'm aware that the upstate NY (southern Quebec) area is a large alluvial plain.
With that said, I have a question that's bugging me.
I was out in the fields, and as expected there's a variety of rocks not normally found in the area. The usual cobble, granite, etc, But this green one stood out, and got me wondering: I've never seen this type of rock other than scattered in the fields. Where did the glaciers pick this up from, to have if dropped in New York State?

Don,t know man,but it,s a pretty rock and kind of unusual looking.Didn,t the glaciers move from North to South in that area.If so might give you an avenue to start at.
