The eye on that thing is really long. It’s a pretty axe head. I like the wedge shape. If it were me, I’d probably try to clean it up and fit a handle.

Thanks Madmox! I’m leaning that way, though it’s going to be a serious effort with that thing haha. Figure I better ask before I do something I may regret.

Also make sure those cheeks aren’t too thin to go removing much material. It’s hard to tell from the pics. I’m of the opinion that a tool needs to be used. Just sitting on a shelf, it isn’t doing as it was meant to.

That’s a nice one! I’ve only dug up one axe head. It was a double bit. But it was too far gone for much. I suspect it was one of the old logging axes they used while they were logging the old growth redwood in the area.
