I got this off the free table at the transfer station . I don't know too much about Barbies , but the case is dated 1961 . I can hardly wait to put new outfits on her . No sign of Ken - but I think I found his bathrobe :tongue3:

I think id just live at the dump if I found as much good stuff as you do there.

Many years ago I operated a landfill. You wouldn't believe the stuff people would throw away.

Isn't that the first one ever made or pretty close? Like the really expensive one? I don't know very much about these but this is what I'm talking about.

Mine does not have the holes in the feet for the pedestal- but the right foot is marked ''Japan" - I stripped her down - no markings on her butt cheeks .:laughing7:8-)

That's a pretty good score for free!! We love the dump!

Wow, still a collector's item, good recup!

It's amazing someone would toss it

Been with a few of them back in the day.

great score. you probably have a #3 or #4 Barbie. Probably in the $50-$100 range, but the real money is in the outfits, some sell for up to $100 for each complete outfit. I even had the little accessories sell for $20 each and all of it sells fast.

My mistake - l took a loupe to her right butt cheek & she has the correct markings . Like jochart said a #3 or #4 .

That just sounds sooo wrong LOL.

Uh-oh, looks like Ken might have gone swimming again (you know, gotta keep impressing Barbie, right?) not realizing he was at the dump. I bet that darned trash dozer moved him to the far end of the pool. :laughing7:

great barbie...yeah, barbie #1 has holes in her feet for the stand and eyebrows are also angled where these are straight. Good early doll though.

It Just sold on Ebay - $117.50

When I was little, I would switch the heads of my sister's Barbie and Ken dolls.
