So I have an small old church right down the road from my house I have been driving by for years. I stopped once and read a plaque on the build that said they had been there since 1863 and the church standing there now was built in 1936 but I never hunted it because I never asked permission. Well on the way home I saw a few cars there so I pulled in. I got out walked up to the door and it was locked so as I was walking around the side of the building when an older lady came out a side door. So I told her my name and began telling her that I would like to hunt there property. She said that would be fine and she gave me the history of the church. She was the oldest longest running member there and here family donated the land to build the church on back in 1863. She showed me where the old church was and said have fun. So I went home and got my 7 year old son and went back. We found a ton of trash at first. But finally we got in the money. We found a bunch of pennies, dimes, and quarters. Two times I dug numerous coins from one hole. Also found an old toy car and toy ring. The only old coin is a 1928 wheat penny. I thought for sure we would find older coins but for some reason we never did. I can go back any time I want to she told me so we will be hunting it hard for a while. I think I will hit the woods behind it next time.
