HELLO, folks, my brother, zoyboy, and I decided to head out today for some treasure hunting at the "Old Colonial Road." Since our great uncle, Colonial Silver Zeus, could not grace us with his ultimate grace
, we headed out to one of our "back-up" sites. Usually, we bring our detectors to this site, so we brought them today.
In case you may be wondering, we also usually bring our big digging shovels, so we brought those, too. To ward off your confusion, we usually bring our extreme passion with us as well.
Today, in Central PA, the temp was a soaring 45 degrees with a blustering wind of 20 mph, but let me tell you, that 20 mph wind did not stop these treasure-seeking baboons from detecting on this super ancient roadbed.
Upon our arousal from our respite, we decided to have a hot cup of hot choc-a-lit and brainstorm about our plan of attack.
With my black, silk robe secured tightly to my metal detecting body, I walked down the steps with a metal detecting smile on my face.
To make a long story short that usually pertains to metal detecting, we ended our chat about metal detecting and decided to load our metal detectors into my car. <cynical grin>
Skip ahead in time to about 10:31 a.m.
We were detecting now.
As I walked my way to an area that I had in mind, I looked back at my brother and wished him luck.
Skip ahead in time to about 10:32 a.m.
I turned my "John 'Johnny' Walter" metal detecting knob to "MAX." As it clicked in place, I looked over at zoyboy and saw him "scanning" for pottery in an exaggerated fashion with his shovel on his shoulder (he beat me to the mode switch).
12:30 p.m.
Two hours later and zoyboy is still scanning his "mellon" back and forth looking for "you know what."
In all gravity, at this same time, I was sweeping with my usual fever and while MY eyes were scanning for "that stuff," I locked in on an odd-looking object. As I picked it up, I thought, "The last person to hold this was a crrrrrrazy Injun 5,000 years before the birth of the Johnny Walter."
:P It turned out to be a 5,000 year old Native American arrowhead.

Before I excavated the arrowhead, I had located a Colonial homestead. I found a broken spoon handle, a button, and a horseshoe, but no coppa.
Oh well, I am happy with my first crazy Injun artifact. Heck, at least I know it is B.C. (Before Coppa).
Departure from site
We headed home with our same super high fever. Stay focused on our upcoming threads, we still need to hit one of zoyboy's research sites for 2008. He has a ton of them and pending permission, we should find some nice coins this year. Folks, to end my thread, I have to say something...I love you all!

Keep the passion high!
