I found this older iron...I'm guessing it's from around 1953 or so. It is in great condition, still works and the box looks awesome! There are no instructions inside, but I feel like it should be worth something...any ideas on the value?

Steam and dry iron, CAT. NO. 189F40

Thanks!! IMG_4461.JPG IMG_4462.JPG IMG_4464.JPG IMG_4465.JPG IMG_4466.JPG IMG_4467.JPG IMG_4468.JPG IMG_4471.JPG IMG_4472.JPG

I found a thermos the other day, I'm guessing it too is from around the early 1950's or so.

It too is in great condition, and yes, the box looks awesome!

There are no instructions inside either.

I did find though that if I put something cold in it, it stayed cold...and if I put something hot in it, it stayed hot...

Kinda wonder how do it know...? :laughing7:

Ok. I'll stop funning with ya...I think your are right about the age, but it probably has little value...maybe $10 or so...

Could be wrong though...and it won't be the first time...

I have one to iron patches on my tent or jeans. :laughing9:

I had a roomate once that ironed everything including his socks.

Can you still buy iron on patches for blue jeans? When I was a kid, most of
my blue jeans came as hand me downs from my cousins and all had patches on the knees.

I used to wear my pants out in the knees at work and I used iron on patches too lol. Yes I think you can still buy them and they even come in camo colors. I used a patch last year on my favorite lightweight camo hunting jacket.

I used a patch on my old canvas tent worked great but I dont think they make canvas tents anymore. I havent tried it on the new tent material yet but give me time.
