First, let me say that I'll get the pics up eventually... After that, let me say that this was an absolute dream day! I have never had a virgin site, especially one that produced like this! Also, let me say that all these finds were within a 1 and 1/2 hour window!
The finds were all within a tight 8 by 8 area.

1877 seated liberty quarter CC
1877 seated liberty dime
1885 seated liberty dime
1870 canadian dime
???? canadian dime (silver, looks to be the same design as the 1870)
1856 seated liberty half dime
???? capped bust dime (front is worn almost completely gone, back is still identifiable)
1903 Barber dime (newest coin I found here)

Also found was two indian head pennies 1885 and 1890
Two nickels that are totally unidentifiable
one 2 cent that is unidentifiable. If I did not have a 2 cent already to compare it to, I would never have known what it is.

I will be going back to this site today... the only bad part is the big producing area is in between a power line and a phone line, relatively close to the road... All that put together causes some serious interference on the ol' Explorer... Plus there is poison ivy everywhere! BUT!!!! To me, its worth it!

Well done, Dave!
Can't wait to see the photos!

Excellent spot Dave. Sounds like a silver mine.....
Can't wait for the pics...

Keep diggin'...

The location is in a persons side yard that isn't kept up like their actual yard, hence the poison ivy.
I actually had no knowledge of the general store, just was driving and recognized the house has being an older house. I stopped by and knocked on the door to ask for permission.
The lady that lives there is a retired school teacher, and was happy to let me detect. Then she started to tell me about the location... A general store sat in her yard, and a mill that used to be across the road (also have permission for that, but its a winter site... very heavy in ticks!).

Thats great you were able to get permission to hunt that spot. Its a good thing you stopped by to see her.

Sounds like a crazy good day to me. I too can't wait to see the pics!
Best of luck out there!!!

Well, blow me down....what a day you had! And I thought my 1957 G Deutsche Mark was a find!!! LOL (found that at the beach on the lower part of the dunes).

PS: Ron and Bobby are BSA Camping up at Baypointe, a new BSA Reservation (near Jamiaca, Virginia). He took his detector, will find out if he found anything on Saturday when they return home....might be a new spot to hunt in the future, if we can...along the Rappahannock River, I believe it is...about 2 hours from VBeach.

HOLY CRAP that is outfreakingstanding...WELL DONE!!!!!

All I have to say is... WOW :o

Great finds!

<patiently awaiting pics>

Great haul of old silver. Did you find any tokens or relics there? I'd like to see those, too, if you found any. It's all good.

Great Day!

The virgin (site) is still waiting for me.

A little advice; if you get interference from the power line ( I assume you do not mean buried lines) try changing frequency if you have the option on your detector. You can also try using a sniper coil if you have one. It will allow you to get a little closer to the lines. The third option is to lower your sensitivity. You will give up a little depth, but you may eliminate the electrical interference.

Great going!

I cannot wait to see the pictures!
