Old lead figure...what kind of animal it?

Dug up this little guy yesterday at an older house. It is a lead figure of some kind of animal, but what? Squirrel? Cat?

its a rare Squat, introduced by frank marzephio in 1889 not a successful introduction they died off in 1891, but was reintroduced in 1896. With successful mating are now flourishing in the hills of WV but are rairly seen due to their nocturnal nature. In 1926 they were filmed and lead figures were commissioned by the Smithsonian. because like everything in WV who would believe it.
