Old Schools Soccer Field

Old School's Soccer Field

diagonally across from my house there was an old school originally built in 1899 last year they bulldozed it to make way for the relocation of the football stadium (currently directly across street from my house) as part of the High School renovations.....there is a soccer field right below where the old school was....there was a house there until the 1940's been there a couple times this week between rain showers and found a few pretty good keepers....1943 merc with a gouge...i dont think I did it as it doesnt look fresh but who knows...2 wheats in one hole i DID gouge the back of one....soon as i saw it i said to myself "man i hope that wasnt a 55 double die".....turned it over and wiped some dirt off and GUESS WHAT?!?!?!.....1955d....so close.....also found a pretty cruddy tax token, some sort of buckle and this piece of a button (posted in the what is it forum, to no avail)

thankx for looking

Cool finds. Is that a pilgrims shoe buckle
or a 1980 belt buckle? :P

Re: Old School's Soccer Field

Cool finds Marty..I've found more 1955-D wheats than any other, and you can bet I hope for the elusive 1955 double die.

The marks in that old Merc look like they've been there awhile, fresh ones wouldn't be dark like that..kinda looks like Lady Liberty's wearing war paint

Cool finds. Is that a pilgrims shoe buckle or a 1980 belt buckle?
