I am pleased to see you are getting out for some hunting ! Nice finds ! Site has potential ! Stirrup ??? Can't help ! I don,t know if you can tell if it is military or civilian just by the style !!! Experts ??

Well it was on the Old Wire Road and the site was a huge camp site over the winter for the civil war troops marching to Wilson Creek Battlefield. The station master was killed by Bloody Bill Anderson and his bushwacker gang who was then killed later in that month in 1864

Gypsy I was browsing through some civil war relics the other day, and I believe I saw one of those stirrups like the one you have. I belive it will be civil war type. Name, and Id I don't kmow. Good luck, and you've got some nice finds there. HH...

Nice 3 ringers gypsy. The stirrup is proabably CW era also.

WTG. I think your stirrup is civil war period. On the bullets. If you didn't know. If the first 3 ringer has a solid base it is a Merrill carbine.

I just got back from digging five days in Kansas...my hands are numb....just haven't been posting my last couple of months finds....
