Were not liberty dimes produced in .900 silver, as opposed to sterling (.925 fine)?

Tough one. I don't see anything that resembles a dime (except for the reeded edge). Usually there are some characteristics on a coin ring that resembles some type of coin, but there might be exceptions I guess.

IMO, it was a ring from day one.

Nice find, and having some age to it as well.

I'm thinking not from a coin also.
More like a sterling bezel, then again the sterling mark is inside. It has been resized or just a poor joint, but it looks like something was attached.

It wouldn't be stamped if it was a coin ring. It started as a ring not a coin ring. A reeded edge would go all the way up the edge it wouldn't have a solid edge also. Those aren't reeds those are dots.

You’re probably right as far as starting life as a ring. But the reeding on a liberty dime does appear to stop with a solid edge.

But not produced in sterling silver.

True. Although that wouldn't prevent someone from stamping STERLING on it. :laughing7:

Although BOTB is right--that's not the "reeding" from a Seated dime.

Very nice find, regardless! Much better than a Seated dime.

Nice find...
I vote that it is a nice vintage ring but not from a coin.
