Older or not?

Hello, I'm not sure what this is and I can't even remember where I got it, although I'm an avid thrift store shopper. It looks old and the surface is rough, but it has a little hole in the bottom and I'm not sure if that means it's more modern, even though it looks old. It is about 4 in tall and it sort of looks like Mexican folk art, but I'm not really experienced and identifying these things. 😉 Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Oh, I forgot to mention, it is some kind of pottery.

My guess is there was a little baby jesus that used to go in that basket.

it is a slip mold pour and the hole in the bottom helps it dry out before firing.

Thanks. I guess that means it isn't that old, but it's probably just made to look that way. 🙂
