I did a short hunt this morning with a friend. We walked some gravel bars. We were on one and he says..I would of thought we would find something on this one. I turned and smiled and he said NO you didnt. I had it in my hand :laughing7:. Its not a point but a nice small knife made from black flint. Later he found a nice end scraper made from a large flake. No points today but we did find some pottery. I got a nice pottery rim piece made from plain and a cord marked and another plain piece but a cool shape. Im making a shard frame just as soon as I can get more frames. HH, rock
I found some other pieces of plain but sent them to a Tnet buddy today.

Nice job Rock...glad you got out and found some stuff...I haven't been out in a month or so now, so I will hunt vicariously through you...

You had a nice day Rock!! That rounded piece of pottery looks almost like a pendant or something. Having a hunting partner always creates competition. That usually makes me hunt extra hard. I find myself hunting like a bird dog when competition is present. Nose on the ground!lol! Keep it up!

on our way out the only spot other than going all the way back was a steep incline with not much to hang onto. At the bottom was some large rocks. My friend says we are going out this way :-\. I said well if you make it Ill try. He made it up so here I go up the cliff. I got almost to the top and there was nothing to hold onto. He says grab hold of my flipping stick and Ill pull you up. He weighs about 125 and I weigh 300. Not a good ratio at all. My foot gave way and I almost pulled him off the cliff! He let go and I was lucky enough to grab a tree limb. That fall probably would of killed me with those large rocks at the bottom. I climbed the tree limbs and went at a angle to the top. I told him we wont be going that way again. He agreed

Nice finds Rock:thumbsup:You always have to be careful when out and about. Where I'm hunting now if I get hurt that's where they will find what's left of me, between the snakes, wild hogs, gators, wild dogs, black bear and coyotes I will make a good meal. There is no phone service for me are anyone deep in those holes, you have to stay on your toes and think safety first. Always tell someone where you will be hunting, that way if you don't make it back on time they will know where to start to look. Believe me I have been in jungles, deserts and some bad places in this world and never had a close call like I have had in my on area where I live. Stay safe my friend HH:occasion14:

Great words great advice !!!

I've had those close calls. That's all part of the fun....well....after you survive them, with no injuries. I got stuck in mud up to my waist once. That scared me pretty bad. I had a flipping stick that Larson gave me. I used the stick to help push me out of the mud. I also beached my boat once going faster than I should have been going. It almost threw me out. I hit the console and bruised or broke some ribs. Already hurt, I had to push that beached whale back into the water. We go overboard for artifacts. That's passion!! Be careful!

Yeah it was a fun week. Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow. I had a different hunt almost everyday. Didnt find any killers but had fun all except the climb out that almost turned bad. When I grabbed the tree branch I reached out to try and catch my buddy cause I thought he was going over but its a good thing he let go just in time and caught something to hang onto. I was hoping the branch wouldnt break if I had to grab him. At least I didnt have to find out and everything worked out for the better. Im not a good climber cause my size 14 shoes just dont dig in very well. HH, rock

Be careful at work lol those big feet help when walking the river beaches they work like snow shoes haha glad you had a good week :)
