One Gold Nugget and Another Sterling!

Started the day off with Charlie leaving me and going to work. (bad storms last night) The kids weren't coming over till 4, so I decided to hit the park! Walking along and picking up a coin here and there and thanking the Good Lord for a beautiful day, I got a bleep and it read in the 50's. Right under the grass was a shiny silver cross. With a smile, I look up and say, "Thank you!" Another couple of coins and a bleep in the 20's. Three inches and a ring! A really dirty ring! A few minutes later a Dad pulls up and the kids hop out to play. I was so excited over my finds and about to die to see what they were marked, I cut my hunt short and headed for the house.

Get home and clean the finds up a bit. YES! It's a 14K nugget ring and a 925 sterling cross!

Oops..my son has arrived early! :P Gotta run!

Hey Nana ! Outrageous finds there ! I would be in hog heaven with the cross and the ring. As an MXT,

user myself ,i was curious about how you set yours up- mode, disc, and gain. I've just begun hunting in relic

mode , with trigger forward, 0 disc. , gain at + 1 or +2 if i can get away with it. I find i'm getting a bit more

depth and a much better trash separation with this alternate search mode. All the best Gregory, Santa Fe.

Bob...I did! Didn't take no time at all! I put it into that ultrasonic cleaner, and in three minutes, good as gold!

Joe... That may be something I need to look into! I can see it now.... faded out, pre-holed knees and raggedy pockets. It'll be the rage!

Relic...If I can do this, ANYONE can! You'll find 'em! Just dig it all.

ME...OH Dear God! What have you gone and done to me! Tell ya what....You get that MXT and I'll let you hunt my yard all you want! Don't know if there'll be any more shotgun shells or horseshoes left out there to find though. :P

Greg...Here's what I do...

Relic mode...switch to ground, three times air to ground on a clean spot. Then switch to lock.
Gain at 10 unless it's an iron infested site and it blows my eardrums out. :P Then a bit less if it is.
The dual control is usually at 4 or 5.
I usually dig everthing above 10+ unless I'm in an area with lots of slaw, then I move over to a different spot.
I haven't tried with the switch forward yet.

Stoney...Thank you! I was quite surprised by the ring find! I started in the pea gravel and soon found out that someone else had already been there. I mean there was NOTHING there! :P (must have been one of those boy scouts) So with all the rain we had last night and digging easy, I headed to the grassy area. Glad I did!
