Went out Yesterday And Picked up a silver Bracelet!!!!!! before I had to Take red Home But Today Was The Bomb I got Out To the Same Park and Found My First Indian Head Penny Currently Going through it 3rd Hot Peroxide Bath The First Was Just to Be able To Get the Date WOO HOO 1906 I have Been Doing the Happy dance All Day!!! Red was Pissed Because She was Still Out of It today But She Still get to See the Cleaning Of it It Looks Great Just wish We had a better Camera

I have Hit this area Hard But recently Had to Made A road trip To Whites Because the Coil was Going Bad they Hooked Me Up with A new Coil Not the Same One And told Me that I would Need to Slow Down My swing A little Which I Did!!!! Still Have a lot to learn from it I don't like the Way it Acts in the Dry sand Guess I will Have to learn It!!! HH Chug


The Indian was down at 5.50 inches Love it as Soon as I removed the Bottle cap and Rescaned the Hole It was a Great Signal It was Bouncy before hand between iron and Copper

Just Before Finding the Indian head I was Approached by a Transient!!! Quote Did you find My Cell Phone, No A minute Later I had to Tell Him to Get the Hech Away from Me Because He was Being Weird!!!!

He was Not Happy and Expressed it To His Homies!!!! about 25 feet form Me!!! Not 20 Minutes Later One Of the Came Up fast On A Bike!!! And Said If i find A Cell Phone It Belongs to A Friend Of His I said Yeah I Just Told Him to Get The Heck Away From Me !!! If I find it I will Let Him Know!!!! Leave Me Alone!!!!

After about An Half an Hour I Noticed the I had 2 Of them In front of Me 2 behind Me And 1 on each side 20 feet away on all Sides

I put the Pinpointer in the Holder and Pulled Out the AP DIGGER Hunted the Park for Another Hour Not Letting them Intimidate Me

Talked to A few Folks along the Way They asked if everything was OK I said Just A bunch of Idiots Trying to Get Something for Free!!!



Did I find the Phone? Yep Under the Leaves under the tree!!! It only had 4 minutes on It and A Cracked Screen

I let the Homie On the Bike Know Where it Was With A Message!!!

Its Under the Large tree Over there Pointing, tell Him that's What will Happen to Him Next time He Want to Threaten Me and tell His Buddy's That I'm Probably just Some Child Molestor looking For His Next Victim!!!! Yes I heard It !!!! And If he Has A problem Call The Police!!!

What's this hot peroxide you're talking about, in 32 years of detecting I've never heard of it. I know of many ways to clean coins but this is definitely new to me. I found my first IH last year and I have bunches of wheaties that the dates can't be read on either and so far I've never found a way to clean them that I really cared for that much. I'd like to know the particulars of this method before I try it and perhaps do something I'll regret later.

People in the NE have been using it to clean their large cents and early Colonials. Probably will work on IHs too, but may discolor them dark red.

Method: in a microwave-safe container, heat peroxide on high for 40-50 seconds. Let the coin sit in the container for several minutes first, which should remove most of the extraneous material. Then gentle pry off extra material with a toothpick dipped in peroxide. Has produced some excellent results, with much more details on otherwise toasted cents.

I haven't heppened to find any IHs recently, but plan on using it after I find some crusties. Last IH I found was AU or better, on top of a bed of rock in front of the John Day Library, near their sign. Less than 1" deep, and sparkling like someone just dropped it.

Tuberale, thanks for the info, I'll try it with a few wheaties and see what it does. The soil around here isn't exactly penny friendly and I'm always looking for new ways to clean them. You might be surprised at some of the things I've tried in the past, some with fair some with bogus results.
