Found a nice collins axe on top of the ground at a tree trunk ! It's got the square collins logo so it is real. I can make out the 18 part of the date but that's it. And it does say hand forged by

Cool recovery. Congratulations! Found a lot of axe heads here in the mountains of northeastern Oregon.
 
I'd love to see a pic of it after you've scrubbed off all that dirt.

Very nice and looks restorable. I've found lots of axe heads but never a double bit. I guess they were not used here in the east like they were in the west.

Probably found a couple of mine...I'd get excited falling big timber back in the day and forget where I left my falling ax:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

It's a first for me . It was on an old plantation property just waiting for me to walk by it lol
