O.K. First of all I am gonna agree that I am a lucky bstrd!!
I stopped and got permission on some property today after work and thought I would try to find a silver before it got too dark. My first target was something that looked like a sales tax token but I wasnt sure.
I didnt bring the camera out with me because I didnt want it to draw attention or get me chased off the property if the owner was thinking that I was pulling out good stuff with every picture. My second target I dug was a mercury dime and I was thinking Yaaah baby! As I kept working the yard another token came up and after that i dug a buffalo and a merc in the same hole laying against eachother. At this time I was FREAKIN' OUT with the coins that I had dug but nothing could prepare me for what I dug next!!
The tone was high and in the 90's but a couple of the tokens had done the same thing so I wasnt expecting anything different. As I cut the plug and pulled it open, I caught site of a big piece of silver that looked like that darn dinosaur token that I dug the other day but this was heavy and had a reeded edge. It was my second morgan dollar of the year!!! Can you believe that?? WOW.......WOW WOW!!! My hand was shaking
with all the excitement. I stopped right there trying not to yell or make a scene so I just dropped it in my pouch and grabbed my phone to call a friend and let him know what he was missing out on. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT YEAR IT WAS!! I wasnt going to take a chance on getting chased off, so after the mixture of ata-boys and cursing from my friend, I got back to swinging to see what else I could pull up before dark.
As you can see in the following pictures, I had an awesome time and I am only 1/3 of the way through this property. The tally is as follows.
1890 s morgan.......1935 D merc.....1924 D merc........1942 D merc........1920 D merc....no date buffalo...
1883 indian......1874 indian......1904 indian and about 9 wheaties along with assorted clad.
