Tonight I found nothing at all worth keeping. Not even a nice iron relic. I found foil, wire pieces, pulltabs, the usual, but no keepers. Oh yeah, I found a couple pieces of coal too.

The mosquitos drained about a pint of my blood. :(

I guess it was just one of those days.

We all have those days. I spent the first 6 months of the year like that, haha.

Rusty,I dig EVERTHING so it's rare I get totally skunked. But I've detected a couple spots on a whim that have produced next to nothing. It all comes down to where you swing your stick. Better luck next time, theres to much stuff in the ground for that to happen to often.

Ya gotta hate days like that. When I'm out I dig and dig until I have at least one junky item to bring home and show my family why I spend hours out in the woods on this enjoyable hobby. Actually I've only had a couple days like yours.

If iron was gold-we'd all be rich.
I call it clearing the junk to get to the
good stuff!! ;)
Course,if I was better at this,I'd bypass
the junk and go right to the good stuff!!-LOL

It's 115.2 miles round trip for me to hit Daytona Beach from my house, at 22 miles per gallon thats 5.25 gallons of gas at $2.30 a gallon >:( thats about $12 just in gas, then add $5.00 for parking and it's $17 just for that one trip to and from the beach. I am sure its $20 time I add the drinks and eats for the trip on the way home for the single hunt.

BUT, the pleasure I get from the hunt, the peace of mind from walking the beach at night with the moon, the stars, the sound of the surf rolling in is beyond measurment. The eye candy to add to the enjoyment ;D. Oh, and I can't forget the excercise that goes with it either. ;)

Money well spent in my humble opinion.

I think I could have at least pulled out one decent iron relic if I hadn't run out of daylight. ;D

Thanks for the replies, all.

The next swing of that coil could be something cool, like yall said I guess that's what keeps us going!

Thats the spirit,5 or ten more minutes and Im sure you would have found a keeper,go try another site for a day, then you will be dying to get back to the spot you found nothing. Twenty dollars for an entire evenings entertainment is quite a bargain, you can drop a couple hundred just hanging out in a bar for the night, drop at least a hundred to go see a major sporting event,,,,
