Tonight I found nothing at all worth keeping. Not even a nice iron relic. I found foil, wire pieces, pulltabs, the usual, but no keepers. Oh yeah, I found a couple pieces of coal too.

The mosquitos drained about a pint of my blood. :(

I guess it was just one of those days.

Heck, I though I was the only one that happens to. I rather not get any junk signals at all but people just can't resist pulling that stupid tab off the pop cans. I find those things everywhere. I can't believe how many of the old ring type tabs I still dig up in parks that were built long after the soda companies switch over to the new type. Were people saving them up and seeding them in new parks or something.
Keep the faith, the longer you search the sooner you'll find something worth keeping. Gold? Silver? 1800's coin?Rings? Diamonds? Foil? you just never know!

Rusted_Iron,
You have to be persistent. Time and patience will give good finds. Have a positive attitude when you search. I was at the lake beach yesterday, they had drained the lake. Hunted for 7 hours. In that time, a guy with an Excalibur 1000 arrived and proceeded to mark grid lines on the beach. He was there for 1 1/2 hours and rarely dug a signal. During the day 2 more people came with a garrett GTA and a Minelab Sovereign. They left with no finds after 45 minutes. I was using a DFX and after my 7 hour hunt ended with 4 Sterling rings, 1 Sterling Chain, 2 14K Gold Rings, a 10K Gold Cross, $1.52 in coins. Total take was about $110 in scrap gold and coins. Not a bad days work. These other guys would have found stuff if they had only had patience.

I found a pull tab that had a tree root growing threw the middle of it that was thicker then the tab itself. I couldn't figure out what was setting off my detector till I saw the tree root with the tab in the middle of it. It was covering most of the tab.

$%@###**@@

Thought I was going to have one of those days today. I finally did pull out an axe head at least.

I dug more junk today than I have in the last two months put together. I even dug a condom if you can believe it. It was under some leaves in a wooded area. Got a feeling somebody else knows about my secret site ;D

Hope it goes better next time.

Just spent several hours at a remote beach in Northern California this last week and all I found were pull tabs, beer bottle caps and rubbers...obviously a well used lovers lane. ::) (5 miles down a 1 lane country road)

The good news is that the pull tabs and bottle caps are recyclable...

The glass is either half-full or half-empty...it's all in the attitude.

Those are tough days. I don't know of anyone who hasen't had them either.

I think of it as eliminating the chances. Next time is definetly gonna be better.

It's very difficult to find stuff all the time.

Been there, done that, Rusty. I'm in some kind of slump too. :-\
