I actually had a couple hours today after my annual physical so I hit the pasture beside my house where I found the clipped Spanish silver last month. It's a big area so I was checking out some areas that I only glazed over. I was finding the typical pasture and homesite stuff until the last target. I increased the sensitivity of my machine and reduced the discrimination and started a slow and steady sweep. I got a decent yet scratchy tone but it certainly sounded diggable. When I flipped it out I thought it was a fishscale (Canadian silver 5 cent) and was happy with that. I blew a little dirt off and saw a crown on one side, consistent with a fishscale but on the other I saw a King and knew it wasn't a fishie! It's an 1836 British Guiana 1/4 Guilder which I had never even heard of...but was glad to dig!
Managed a couple buckles, a keg spigot and the usual brick-a-brack.
