Hi folks, been a while since I have been here. I went with my wife & kids to the outer banks of NC on the week of 06/9/12. The last three days of the week, the beaches were red flagged due to heavy surf conditions. Hardly anyone on the beaches. I decided to take my "Stick" for a walk. While seaching on a beach in Kill Devil Hills, I pulled this 14K pink star sapphire from the sand. I also found about 55 cents in clad. If you have never done so, try out a beach. The sand is nice to dig instead of hard packed dirt. Like silver, that gold comes out of the ground like the day it was lost. Happy 4th.

smokedaddy,
Great find and a great way to use part of your vacation while on the outer banks. I've been there a few times myself OBNC that is, back in the late 90's but never with a detector. With all the vacationers and history in the area the detecting there should be good. Thank you for sharing your finds with all of us..........63bkpkr

Super...still looking for my first gold ring!
