Yes I dug it. I lost some of the nice green patina while working on it, but yes it works again!!!
It was hard finding a blank to work with, but once I did it was fun. I solved it one piece at a time until it was fully impressioned. I hope I can find another one to work on soon.


Any suggestions on get that brass key cover back shining?No Truth. I searched every lock and safe company, antique shop etc. I didn't dig the key out of the ground. The key I finally settled with had to be drilled and filed to make it work. As for shining the cover on your lock, maybe you can use a dremmel tool with a buffing wheel and some buffing compound. That's a nice lock!
Ya'll be careful with those old lock finds. I found a lock similar on March 29th:

I was going to do electrolysis on it, but was too fascinated by it, picked at a little spot on it and the whole thing disintegrated.
I should have just left it alone.
