Went walking in a creek at my grandma's sister's farm today. I was stoked to check out the land after I found out there has been alot of artifacts found there over the years. I found a flake blade and a smoker side knife that I think is Paleo. Am I right?

I am pretty sure the point or blade is not paleo. As for the flake knife, I can't say. The term paleo end scraper is a rather dubious term. Those flake tools were used in all time periods. Heck, I still carry one of those rather than a pocket knife. Lol! Only joking..... Or am I!?

awesome piece , that blade is very cool.the scraper would be nearly impossible to date,as ncfieldhunter has said all periods has used them, if a primary flake could be utilized it was.

Unless you are finding Paleo pieces, like a Clovis or pieces of them on the site, it is almost impossible to say for sure if a Tool is Paleo. All cultures used them. There are some Tools, like a Limace or a Scraper with an Engraver Spur that are usually associated with Paleo though.

I have found them myself but with Archaic period artifacts.
