Parking ticket?????????????

Now this is weird. I knew things were messed up over there, BUT!
I just got a notice that because I didn't pay the ticket they were adding $100 penalty to bring the fine to $200.
Here's what the ticket states. -Date 12/15/13
-violation Failed to display 2 DC tags
-location 1000 Kenilworth Ave.
-$100 /penalty$100 amount $200
-ticket #/ mane 700-------/Chry

Hay, I live in Maryland. My vehicles are registered and tagged in Maryland.
I have never owned a Chrysler.

The ticket makes no sense.
I went on line and protested it. It said they would E Mail the decision.

I got a ticket for fishing in Maryland w/out a permit, or license, whatever. I had no ID on me at the time, (on the lake)... but I manned up gave the FWC guy all the right info, $100 ticket became $200, after I forgot about it ... 5 years later. Dammitman.

I've thought things were pretty wacky in DC for quite some time, but didn't realize it had gotten this bad. I had a similar ticket from a neighboring city a few years back. When I called (I hadn't even been there any time close to the ticket time) it turned out that the person that made out the ticket had gotten 1 license number wrong and it shouldn't have been my plate.

The powers that be will do ANYTHING to get $ from us including mailing out less than correct tickets!
A relative had a parking ticket mail to her, date of offense was when she was out of town on business, they backed down when she showed them her used plane ticket! No the car didn't drive it's self.

Seems like we have to defend ourselves from all sides all the time! Ridiculous !
And now we have a blimp device that can track you by camera, from Boston to South Carolina! Jay walking & littering tickets will be in the mailbox soon! For your convince you don't even have to leave home to get a ticket for something you didn't do! Technology !

Hay since when is a Maryland car required to have DC tags.They sent the ticket to my Maryland address, so they know I live in Md. The charge was not having DC tags on my car. Frank...

maybe some meter reader or officer took down the license plate wrong, and you came up in the computer. I am sure your explanation will get the whole thing dropped.

The same thing happened to me three years ago. I got a parking ticket in the mail from DC demanding $100.00 for my silver Mitsubishi being illegally parked on a day that I was working a military exercise 200 miles away. Another problem is that I DON'T own a Mitsubishi and never have! I drive a BLACK JEEP JK! They had my correct license number on the wrong car on a day I was 200 miles away from DC!

Call the number on the ticket and COMPLAIN! I did and after going through judicial review, the ticket was voided.

Guilty until proven innocent.What they do is they mail the tickets out in bulk.Meaning some people wont bother to fight the ticket,they'll just pay it to be done with it even though theyre innocent.

20 years or so ago, I was informed I had a warrant for my arrest out of pennsylvania, well it did not take long on the phone to find out I had failed to appear in court for a traffic accident, so a warrant was issued, after then speaking to a court clerk on the phone, I informed her it would be difficult for me to have had been in that accident, since I have never even once been in the state of Pennsylvania, she said OK and I never heard about it again, must be the curse of having a very common name, easy to pull out of a hat in a pinch.
