Just posting this because of some interesting research I've done on some rifled musket lead I've found on a site associated with the second Seminole war 1835-1842.
Most folks would quickly write these 3 ring bullets off as from a later period.... not so.
950 rifles of this model were supplied to the U.S. military in 1838 by Samuel Colt after a much lower number went to the Second Dragoons before that.

I was stumped at first...
I love how a find sets up A whole new avenue of learning.
I am lucky to have found these for sure.
