went to an 1850s two story home today and only found clad. one quarter was 1965. totals were two quarters, one dime, five pennies and toy car. no old stuff and i know it was never hunted cause its only four minutes from my house and same family has lived there 50 yrs. i can go back though anytime and i plan on hunting the whole fifty acres. im just a little. any ideas? i enen used both the standard loop and the 4inch snooper.

most detectors will find whatever is close, first, then it will look deeper. keep trying until you don't get a signal. good luck

keep the detector close to the ground and go very slow or even the hint of a signal

You are doing fine. Just dig the clad and junk first to get it out of the way. Stay consistent and the old stuff will come!
