Maldives Unissued Photographic Printer Proofs
Maldives have had 3 major design changes with their banknotes in the last almost 80 years - 1948 when they first issued banknotes / 1983 when they redesigned the banknotes to be smaller in size / 2015 when they introduced polymer banknotes.
In the 1960's and 1970's the BritishPrinters Bradbury Wilkinson & Co played around with some test designs that were never adoptedand subsequently photographs were taken of these proposals for archival / posterity purposes and theoriginals destroyed.
These photographs along with otherphotographs of unissued / proposed designs for other countries were stuck into an album / book. Somehow over time this album /book ended up in a rubbish skip and was somehow saved fromdestruction.
These are truly one off in the World and although crudely cut / rough looking have been certified by Spink UK to be true and genuine - an interesting insight into what may have been...

This banknote was only released once
I am now fortunate to have 3 out of 5 consecutive serial numbers
A761037 ✅
A761038 ❌
A761039 ❌
A761040 ✅
A761041 ✅
To my knowledge I am the only person in the World to have 2 consecutive serial numbered 1/2 Rufiyaa and possibly 3 of 5 being extremely rare to achieve
This banknote was only released once

60 Years ago (1st August 1966) the Maldives 1/2 Rufiyaa (50 Laari) stopped circulation / stopped being Legal Tender
P.S - this is the only known consecutive pair serial number notes in the World
