Picture question .. Im reflected in the jewelry

First you need a good light box to stop reflection from your light source.

You also need to add a scale ruler to the photograph so that people can see the true size of the object.

I MADE A LIGHT BOX LIKE THAT! Mine was too small. I also didn't have the clamp light. I was using my natural daylight lamp from my sewing room. I gave up when I started using my phone. How come I see people selling jewelry with 4 blurry pictures and the piece sells for good money??? Why can't I sell good stuff with good pictures??? I should try putting up blurry pictures and see if that works. <grin>

So I only sell jewelry, and I have such a hard time getting decent pictures. I finally gave up using my DSLR, and just switched to my phone. I've been fairly happy with it. I have a pair of earrings that are super expensive. I was hoping to list them for $1500. I wanted the pictures to be as professional as possible. Anyhoo, I am looking through the pictures, and the earrings reflected ME in there. Well, the phone. Would you use them?

All my close up look like that.

I was holding the earring thing back so I could get a good shot, and you see my hand in there.

Would you use them, or I do I have to shoot again, this time standing farther away and zooming in?

These images are with your phone, correct? What DSLR do you have and which lens is on it? What do you usually shoot agains and what is your light source? All of these will affect the quality of your images. All of your images should be shot in a similar fashion and have a consistency to them.

Is that a Victor with an Exhibition reproducer cyberdan? Love that authentic sound off the reproducer

sorry I have no idea. I bought it in Brighton, England and it was a piece of junk. I rebuilt myself.
