Hello all! I'm happy to be here! I hope that ya'll can help me identify this rock/mineral. I found it in Lugoff South Carolina at the site of a supposid extinct volcanic vent. I want to say that the crystals are quartz but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They are quartz, growing out of a quartzite matrix. Welcome, and depending on what part of the state you are in, there is gold in them thar quartz veins in some places.
