This little egg shape rock is stuck on and in this petrified wood. What is it?

Has no one responded to this? I am new and either am blind or no one tried to help? I want to know what that is!! Lol! Have you found anything out elsewhere? The first pic i though looked like a carp or something poking its head out from a hole in the log... but then the second pic showed the shape better and i was at a loss. I am the most amateur as can be. Unencumbered by the limits of "knowledge". So my eye is full of imagination, wonder, and possibilities. Also probably fairy tales... hahaha!

Welcome to TNet from Ohio. Like your screen name, very unique. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like anyone is able to provide an answer on your sample. I definitely don’t have any expertise it the field though I am hopeful someone will bite and get you answer. Good luck with your hunts. Walt
