Hey guys I'm starting to run out of spots. I was wondering how you go about finding Civil War camp sites? Is there a website that could help or what? I love detecting them and holding the history and relics I find in them. I'm not looking for your maps just a website or some way to find them. There's not much Civil War action in my area but I'm ALWAYS willing to travel to find these spots lol. If you can help in any way possible I would highly appreciate it. Running out of spots sucks. Or Revolutionary War camps too! My area has lots of Revolutionary War action.
 
The WPA guide to your state can be a big help.
 
Forget the net. Go to the library and look thru the books that have the maps, then just follow the battles. Remember that battles move and don't just happen in one spot. The books show the major engaugements, but are usually surrounded by plenty of action. As an example, I hunted a field just outside Antetum and found a coffee can full of balls and bullets. Frank...

Ok thanks I'll try that. I have bee told about maps with camps on them and I was wondering how to find those. Thanks again
