I never knew how Grandma did that, but it was the cornstarch except she didn't say about the cold water.

That's Nice belt buckle that you found. I just dug my most recent one yesterday. The difference is that mine has all the attachment hooks on the back where yours is missing them. Well...mine is also in one piece too.

I'm gonna go ahead and post a photo of MY find on YOUR post. And I'll reply later on to your post again, and then I'll add a few more photos of MY Find to YOUR post. I figure since they look similar, you and everyone else reading YOUR thread is Very interested in seeing MY finds.

Congratulations again! Nice find.

Hey BuckleBoy, whatever became of that one thing you dug?

I've got it around here somewhere. I'll post a photo within the next month. In the meantime thanks for trying to ID it for me.

Looks like quiche.

That's the Mama Pappagiorgio layer of Cheesy Rust on the find. Don't be fooled if your find looks like the front cover of Italian Cooking Quarterly. Do not Eat the rust. :tard:

Wow, I just saw this post for the first time. Amazing what can be lost and then found hundred of years later. That is just so cool.
