Pompano Beach Conditions?

I will be traveling with my CZ21 to Pompano Beach for a week's vacation/detecting adventure in mid-June. Will also be visiting a friend in West Palm. I understand the beaches have/are going through replenishment. How are conditions and how far South may I have to go to find a beach without pumped sand? Have rented a car. Thanks for any info.

I don't have info on beach conditions, but even pumped sand from deeper water could have gold coins or other treasures from sunken ships. Happens all the time.

Oh? OK. I didn't know that. Maybe I should change my vacation plans. Where is that beach in Fla. that no one detects?

I was in pompano last week. The sand is new but i spent most of my time in the water with my Excal. I was also in Ft lauderdale It is sanded in too. I have not been further south for about a year. Vero beach and Cocoa Beach are nice beaches to hit at low tide and of course Daytona.

I was in pompano last week. The sand is new but i spent most of my time in the water with my Excal. I was also in Ft lauderdale It is sanded in too. I have not been further south for about a year. Vero beach and Cocoa Beach are nice beaches to hit at low tide and of course Daytona.

FYI, Cocoa, New Smyrna and Daytona are all sanded in pretty bad right now......

Kind of a newb question but ... when you guys are talking about the beaches being sanded in are you talking about humans pumping new sand onto the beaches or is this natural replenishment though tidal / storm action?

Actually search Youtube for 'longshore drift' there is a lot of info for northern and southern hemisphere beach action.

Top, when they pump sand on the beach it is called "renurished".

When a beach is sanded in it is from the waves depositing fresh sand on the beaches and it can vary by few inches to multiple feet. Flat beaches sand in faster than steep slope beaches and many of our beaches are very flat. In Daytona /New Smyrna it fluxiates by many feet.

There are poles to control where you can and can't drive on Daytona Beach and poles are 9 feet above the beach when it is good conditions and the top of the poles are eye level at other times when it is sanded in bad......

Thanks to everyone for the info. Yes, Casper, that one or one like it would certainly suffice. I haven't posted on here in quite some time but knew this was the place to ask. Results, good or bad, will be shared when I return. HH to,all!
