Poof coins?

I came across 1976 1971 1977 and a 1987 s mint mark coins. Do these have any silver content? I ask because I thought the s mint mark ment these were 90% but when looking at the edges Im seeing copper. I also found a 1997&98 s mint mark but these have solid silver edges so I'm guessing 90%. Any input would be great.

Check the 1976, i believe it could be a 40% silver proof, but most likely a regular clad-I would still keep them. Since they are already damaged, do the drop tests, but I know the others are not silver proofs just by their years. I think it is 1992 and newer which could be silver proofs. HH!

Correct! Most of your poof coins are going to come from San Francisco.....or maybe the Palm Springs, CA area.......

Be sure to listen the sound those coins make. If they Poof, then they could be worthless

All kidding aside, testing for the sound of silver in a drop test is probaby the easiest way to tell if a coin is silver or not.

I thought "poof" coins were the magic coins. Sort of like "poof", then they disappear.
