Possible meteorite?

My grandfather passed this down to me and told me its a meteorite, its quite heavy and looks to have fusion crust, but I'm no expert. What do you guys think!

Does it have any characteristics that are common to meteorites?

Based only on the images, it looks like basalt, so I have to be convinced otherwise.
