Very nice ring SS, good find! Can you tell me what the silver marks mean?
Gold marks.
E.V. would be the maker.
9 and .375 are the karat indication.
The anchor is for Birmingham.
And the i is the date mark in this case, as SS says 1908
Check out this link for a better understanding - http://www.britishhallmarkingcouncil.gov.uk/publications/hallmarks2.pdf
Thanks for the information SS, will check out the site.
Didn't know if the ring was gold or silver from the photo....
I wish I were SS - He gets some pretty sweet finds :D
I have been blessed with some good luck :icon_thumleft:

SS

I pray every night for you to go to hunt .... God's hand for you.
P.D.... everything is a joke .... :laughing7: not pray in English. :dontknow:

Was Thinking of starting a "best old Gold Rings ' thread, searched & found this one.
It needs to be brought back up top. here's my prized shield ring, one of my first MD
Finds, Inside inscription, but unreadable, anyone want to venture a date? I'm guessing pre 1750.
Hope to see more posts here!
